Healthcare Research and Design

In 2020, a group of students undertook an independent research and design project to develop schematics for a local Physiotherapy Center under the guidance of two designers from Stantec. The outpatient rehabilitation facility featured multiple training labs, an exam suite, and a boutique retail center. In designing the building, the team focused on efficient patient flow throughout the space and consideration of architecture’s effect on the human healing process. Guiding principles included access to nature, hospitality-like comfort, and encouraging community.
